Rye Car Service - Waterfront Charm

Rye reads more New England than New York — a walkable Purchase Street downtown, harbor water at the end of the block, and a commuter base that splits its loyalties between Manhattan offices and the Greenwich trading floors ten minutes up the Post Road.

The Sound sets the calendar. Summer belongs to Oakland Beach, the yacht and beach clubs, and Playland's Art Deco midway, open since 1928; the rest of the year belongs to the New Haven Line platform and the I-95 on-ramp. Our Rye service is built around both seasons.

Rye to JFK Airport and NYC Airports

Rye to JFK: 29 miles, 55-80 minutes via I-95 South to Whitestone Bridge to Grand Central Parkway. Sedan from $220, SUV from $255.

Rye to LaGuardia: 23 miles, 40-60 minutes. Sedan from $195, SUV from $225.

Rye to Newark: 44 miles, 65-90 minutes. Sedan from $310, SUV from $345.

Rye to Manhattan Corporate Transportation

Rye to Midtown: 23 miles, 45-65 minutes via I-95 South to FDR Drive. Sedan from $215, SUV from $245.

Rye to Financial District: 25 miles, 50-70 minutes. Sedan from $215, SUV from $245.

Metro-North Rye Station Service

Rye's station is one of the last New Haven Line stops before Connecticut, with peak expresses reaching Grand Central in about 45 minutes. We fill the gaps the timetable leaves — 5 AM drop-offs ahead of the first train, pickups off the late locals, and direct runs to Greenwich or Stamford offices that would otherwise mean riding the rails in the wrong direction.

Waterfront and Beach Transportation

Beach access is huge here with Long Island Sound providing summer recreation. Transportation to Oakland Beach, Playland Beach, beach clubs, waterfront dining. Playland is a classic amusement park bringing families throughout summer.

Spacious SUVs for beach equipment and family outings.

The Rye Airport Equation — I-95 South or the Back Way

Every airport trip from Rye starts with the same question: is I-95 behaving? When it is, LaGuardia is 40 minutes down to the Whitestone and JFK about 20 minutes beyond. When it isn't, our chauffeurs slide over via the Playland Parkway to the Hutch and lose almost nothing. Newark is the long haul — 44 miles, a George Washington Bridge crossing, and a 65-90 minute window we quote honestly rather than optimistically. The overlooked option is also the closest: Westchester County Airport sits just past the Purchase border, near enough that Rye travelers on JetBlue or private departures can leave home well under an hour before wheels-up. Milton Point to HPN takes less time than finding a parking spot at a beach club in July.

The train does exactly one thing brilliantly — weekday Grand Central — and nothing else: no rail line reaches an airport terminal from Rye without multiple transfers and a luggage struggle. That gap is where we live, with flat rates that hold even when a summer Sunday sends half of Westchester down the Playland Parkway at once.

Rye Neighborhoods We Serve

Rye City downtown: Purchase Street shops and restaurants, the village center with walkable streets, proximity to the Metro-North station. The social and commercial hub where village life converges.

Milton Point / Milton Harbor: Waterfront enclave at the southern tip of Rye — harbor views, yacht clubs, and properties that command premium prices for Long Island Sound frontage. The American Yacht Club anchors this prestigious peninsula.

Playland area: Near the historic Rye Playland amusement park (the only government-owned amusement park in the US, opened 1928 with Art Deco architecture). Rye Town Park beach draws summer crowds from across Westchester.

Greenhaven: Residential neighborhood north of downtown — established homes, family-friendly streets, proximity to schools and parks. Classic Sound Shore suburban living.

Rye Neck / Midland: The border area between Rye and Mamaroneck — mixed residential character, Midland Elementary School, and convenient access to both communities.

Why Rye Residents Choose Car Service
